Johnnett Kent aka Chef Johnnie K, a native
of Washington D.C by way of Baltimore
Maryland, found her calling to Culinary Arts
at a young age. It all started with her “Easy
Bake Oven '' at the tender age of 6. Johnnie
often shared “Easy Bake Oven '' treats with
all the neighborhood kids. Although food is
her 1stlove, it was not her 1st profession of
choice. Johnnie decided to pursue her love of
the “Arts' studying theatre at Darting
College of Arts in the United Kingdom and
getting her BFA from Towson University. Johnnie was a working actor for many years on the East Coast. It was not until she migrated to Los Angeles and began to cater small dinner parties for friends and family that she caught the attention of celebrities and high profile executives. Cooking became her survival job, while waiting for her big break. Johnnie’s training comes from pure raw talent and working for years with her parents at their catering company and restaurant in Maryland. Being an avid traveler, Johnnies fuses her love of Eastern & Western Cuisine with hints of Southern Soul and Chocolate in every dish she creates or re-creates. As her reputation grew for creating whimsical, culinary takes on traditional dishes and use of cocoa and chocolate in her cuisine made her a high demand chef.
